The idea of starting a new blog from scratch had never had an appeal before. The past 10 months have seen my personal life change and my poor PLUS 2.4 blog become corrupt due to a piece of data from a plugin.Since our move from a flat of 12 years to a house, it seemed only timely that my blog should reflect the change and so here we begin again.
I am in the process of moving over old posts, reword, update what I have and republish here as well as obviously adding new posts about out new life.Going back to a basic WordPress blog is a bit of a step back but with the upheaval of moving, decorating, learning D.I.Y and settling into a new routine, I honestly could do with keeping things simple for a while.
It’ll be refreshing to kick back and not worry about stats, read new blogs as well as my old favourites, go back to being more me and less fretting about when reviews have to be done.
We moved into a house that was in need of painting mainly in mine and Kip’s rooms.Pink isn’t a favourite colour of ours. We’re going for white in Kip’s room and lilac in mine as 3 walls are already that colour. We had meant to start painting week’s ago but the unpacking of ninetyeleven boxes took a lot longer than I had anticipated.
Saying goodbye to the old flat stirred up a lot of emotions when I handed back the keys, I am thankful that it is no longer part of our lives.I can now give full attention to making this house our home.
This week my dad rotovated part of the front garden where I plan to have a raised bed full of veg and herbs. The back garden is being prepared for laying of a patio in the next week or two. There is a small strip of concrete under the kitchen window that my dad is going to extend so we have room for a table chairs and a barbecue by digging up the lawn.As I’m not allowed to put down a permanent patio, we’re using bark with the odd patio slab to help stable any furniture we put on top.
Last week saw the arrival of the kid’s bed.For the past 5 weeks they have been sleeping on just their mattresses. It means now that the rooms are now complete.Kip really needs a proper bookcase but for now he’s making do with an old television unit.I’ll be doing a separate post to show all the second-hand furniture my mum bought.
The last two months have gone so quickly, it’s only this last couple of weeks ago that it really sunk in that we have a 3 bed house with a garden. Our quality of life has changed so much for the better, I’m just living each day as it’s comes.I can look forward but without the overhanging dread like I did each morning when we lived in the flat. There is so much on the horizon but I want it to come slowly so we can enjoy it for what it is and not have it overwhelm me.
