The Blogger Recognition Award
The Blogger Recognition Award is given by bloggers to bloggers. It’s been such a long while since I was nominated for something like this, no sooner have I done one, another comes along. If you missed my Liebster Award from last month, you can find out more about me.I met Cath from BattleMum through Snapchat. We were already following each other on other social media channels but through recommendations I began watching her daily stories. We met in person at Britmums 2016 last year as she had never been before. She has come down for a visit, where we took her to Lacock and recently we did a quick tour of Bath before she left for her new life in Portugal.

The Blogger Recognition Award- How I Started Blogging
I joined Twitter in February 2009.I got talking to a number of American mums, who friended me on Facebook. One of them posted a link to her blog one day.I clicked through, amazed at what I saw, I asked how it was done. For me at the time it was a way of sharing our life to family and friends. As my mum has 6 grand kids, family meet ups can be hectic. We all want to share what we’ve been up to and at the time we would share photos from holidays etc.I was the only one on Facebook at the time, so starting a blog seemed ideal.I would write a letter like post almost every day with teeny tiny photos. It was a bit shit to be honest.Once posted, I would e-mail the link to my mum, my dad, my brother and a few friends.Thankfully it wasn’t long before I was followed by UK bloggers and blogger networks to show me the error of my ways.
The Blogger Recognition Award- Two Pieces Of Advice
Read other blogs within your niche and comment on them.By leaving a comment it gets you seen. Make sure you leave a good comment that keeps the conversation going.Sharing your experiences about the subject or what you know can help build your credibility profile. This is a great way to get to know other bloggers who will see your comment. This can drive traffic to your blog as a result from not only bloggers but brands visiting that blog also. When in a blogger rut/ writers block/ lost your mojo, reading other blogs can generate ideas and inspiration. It maybe spur you on to reach out to others for collaboration or ask them to guest.Reading also keeps you up to speed on new trends, up and coming people within your blogger community and keeps you engaged with those within it.
As a blogger of just over 8 years, I know many bloggers who deserve this recognition award. For those I am tagging, please do not feel like you have to do it, this is just my way of saying thank you for the support you’ve given me and a way for me to recognise that support (I stole that bit from Cath).
