Over the years we’ve had a few science kits which have either never engaged my kids in the first place or were limiting in what they could do.We were asked to review Science4You My First Spa kit, which allows you to make fizzy bath bombs, fragranced massage oils and much more.Me and my daughter, Cat who is 10, have learnt about the chemical properties behind the ingredients used in the kit and the history of bathing in hot springs. As we work our way through the 21 experiments ( something she is determined to do), Cat decided that she would like to make gifts for friends and family for Christmas. This alone was one of the many great incentives for her as she sat for the best part of 3 days mixing and melting to her heart’s content.
Science4You My First Spa develops motor skills, creativity, social skills, learning and concentration. These are all important part of a child’s education and having this kit has allowed me to see the process she goes through and help her on a one to one basis when she got stuck.
Science4You prides itself on designing toys that encourage education, fun and quality time with the family. All of the products come with a 36 page educational booklet which delves into the basic concepts of science and how it applies to our everyday life. The booklets are all linked to the UK science curriculum, meaning that you can support and supplement their learning at school with Science4You products. There is often additional educational content online at Science4You.
All of the products retail at £19.99. Science4You My First Spa is suitable for children over 8 years old.

We were both impressed with the simplicity of the instructions, attention to detail and how much fun we both had.By the looks of things she’ll be using the kit in the near future.
